When programming switch is on “Programming allowed”, a user can make any programming in meter. When programming switch is on “programming forbidden”, only timing with in a certain error range is allowed. Programming switch cannot control operation in meter. Programming switch is on the PCB in meter. When being manufactured in factory, its parameters shall be set according to users’ requirements, and only three times of power clearing are available.

5.7.2 Programming password

When it is to make programming in meter, to ensure reliability of data in meter, password is applied for protection. The two kinds of passwords: programming password, clearing password. Initial password: 12345601 is programming password, 12345600 is clearing password. Programming switch does not restrict password changing.

5.7.3 Programming content

programming content includes following 7 items: time and date setting, multi-rate period setting, meter address setting, display mode and content setting etc.

5.7.4 Programming check

Checking functions of programming items only can be realized by handhold terminals and computer in management station.

Hand hold terminal: through “Reading time and date”, “Reading meter period”, “Reading meter parameters”, “Previous programming time” etc, for management personnel to check.

5.7.5 Programming security

Hand held terminals have two kinds such as “Meter reading terminal” and “Maintenance terminal”, only “Terminal maintenance” can realize programming of meter, and only entering 6-bit correct logging password (initial password is 123456), turning on programming switch can make a user allowed to make programming.
