PTC-8125D single phase energy auto-calibration system is a new generation, high precision, energy meter calibration equipment. It uses the international’s most advanced technology and components available in 90 decade . The equipment works under the control of keyboard or remote computer.

C .2 Working principle

a. When the CPU receives orders from the operating keyboard or computer , it will control the digital signal source and range switch to work .

b. Digital signal source

Signal source uses the most advanced technology of digital frequency modulation, amplitude modulation and phase modulation to synthesize a sine wave. These waves will be the input signal source for single phase voltage and single phase current. These signal source will be amplified by the power amplifiers .

C.3 Power amplifier

Power amplifier uses the most advanced integrate power operation amplifier. It has designed a perfect protection system for overloading voltage short circuit and overloading current open circuit. It has speedy limit current protection system and keeps the power amplifier in steady working.

D.1 Turn on the equipment

Press on the “Power “ switch, the keyboard monitor screen displays main menu PTC-81252.0 or LINE PTC-8125 2.0 . The number “2.0” is the version of CPU software. If the display is wrong, please push the “Rst.” button.

D.2 Measuring value display

When the equipment is working, the keyboard monitor screen displays the measuring value of frequency, voltage, current, phase.

RSt. :It’s makes the signal source initializing.

Setup : Set coefficient of system measuring value, choose the type of the equipment , set parameters of standard energy meter, set starting current, set mark tracing ,set calibration scheme, and so on.

ESC. : clear the setting value(at the time of setting),reduce current and voltage(at the time of calibrating)

E .1 Setup

Press on the“Setup” key on the main menu, the monitor screen displays following menu: :


Please input the password:8125(or 8100) . If the password is 8125 , you can set standard energy meter parameters, choose the type of equipment, set starting current, set mark tracing and so on. If the password is 8100, you can set latent test, set starting test, set auto calibration scheme of basic error test.

E.1.1 Now input the password 8125 , then press the “Enter” key ,the screen displays following menu:

Please input the voltage value of standard energy meter, then press “↑”key or “↓” key to set other parameters. For example, press “↓”key ,the screen displays following menu:

Please input the current value of standard energy meter, then press “↓” key ,the screen displays following menu:

Please input the constant of standard energy meter, system will multiply the input value by 107(for example,ifthe constant is 1.8 ×107,the input value is 1.8). Then press “↓” key ,the screen displays following menu:

If the system has mark tracing function then input 1,else input 0. Then press “↓” key ,the screen displays following menu:

Please input the number of meters calibrated. If the equipment can calibrate 24 meters at the same time, the value is 24.Press “↓” key ,the screen displays following menu:

This parameter is used to adjust starting current, the range is from 0 to 9.9(mA). Press “↓” key ,the screen displays following menu:

This parameter is used to adjust the output voltage of power amplifier. For example, set Un=220V,but the real output voltage is 100.5%,we can set this value as 0.995,then the real output voltage will be 100%.Press “↓” key ,the screen displays following menu:

This parameter is used to adjust the output current of power amplifier. For example setIn=10A,but the real output current is 100.5%, we can set this value as 0.995,then the real output current will be 100%.Press “↓” key ,the screen displays following menu:

This parameter is used to adjust the output phase. For example, The value of power factor is 0.5L, the screen shows 58°,you can set this parameter as 2. If it shows 62°, you can set thisparameter as 358°. Press “↓” key ,the screen displays following menu:

This parameter is used to adjust the display of phase when the current range switched to 0.1A. Press “↓” key, the screen displays JQ1 to JQ9 in turn, these parameters are used to adjust the phases of 0.25A,0.5A,1A,2.5A,5A,10A,25A,100A.

E.1.2Now we input the password 8100. Press “Enter” key, the screen displays the following menu:

Please select one item by “↑” key or“↓” key. The selected itemwill be twinkling.

E.1.2.1Set latent test

When “QIAD” is twinkling ,press “Enter” key, the screen displays the following menu:

Please select latent voltage or latent timeby “↑” key or“↓” key.

Set the value by pressing numeric figures key or decimal point key

Press “Enter” key to confirm or press” Esc” key to return to previous menu.

E.1.2.2Setstarting test

When “QID” is twinkling ,press “Enter” key, the screen displays the following menu:

1)Please select starting current or startingtimeby “↑” key or“↓”key.

2)Set the value by pressing numeric figures key or decimal point key.

3)Press “Enter” key to confirm or press” Esc” key to return to previous menu.

E.1.2.3 Set automatic test

When “AUTO” is twinkling ,press “Enter” key, the screen displays the following menu:

This parameter sets the calibrating method of start test and latent test. Ifthe value is 1,the calibrating works by user’s definition, else the value is 0,the calibrating works by regulations. Press “↓”key ,the screen displays following menu:

This parameter is used to set the count of passed error at every testing point when system is auto calibrating .

When you test power meter, testedroundis basic round(N0) multipliedby Load burden rate .For example, basic round(N0) is 5(n=5), Load burden rate is 200% , thentested round =10(5*200%).

Fine adjustment 0f slowly increase (slowly decrease)is 0.1% of voltage (current ), or.0.1 degree of phase angle

F.2 AutomaticCalibration

According to tested point defined by user, signal source calibrates powermeter automatically. If testederrordoes notpass, signal sourcewill go ontesting at this point, until testederrorpasses. Press “ENTER” to skip to nexttestedpoint. Press “ESC” to exittest.Automaticcalibration is end, display following menu:

F.5protectionsystem

To ensure full reliability ,PTC-8125D is designedwith a perfect protection system. When the voltage circuit is short oroverloaded , or the current is open, it willautomatically lower down the output even to zero anddisplay “ERR” ,It is recommended to lower down the output power, check the wire connect, then restore the power output if everything is normal.

Ifyou want PC to test power meter ,you push switch from one to the other on the main .The keyboard is lock on line. Signal source is only respondedto PC .

H TroubleShooting           [Back]

1) When the voltage circuit is short or overloaded , or the current is open, itwill automatically lower down the output even to zero anddisplay “ERR” ,It is recommended to lower down the output power, check the wire connect, then restore the power output if everything is normal.

2) Error test is abnormal

check whether the preset parameter for the meter calibrated and the standard meter are correct.Check whether the infrared collector works correctly

3) PTC-8000 doesn’t work correctly

if PTC-8000 doesn’t work correctly , it can be restored by pushing the button of “system reset” . In the process of calibrating the meter, push the button of “calibration reset” to re-calibrate.

4). please contact us if there is any occurrence of malfunction of the equipment.

Warning!!!

There are high voltage at Output and input of the power ample boxes . It is dangerous to touch by hand . It is forbidden to open power ample boxes by nonprofessional .
